JOB SUMMARY
The Supply Chain & Parts Manager owns the hands-on execution of parts inventory and supply chain functions across NETC Fleet Services shop locations. This role is responsible for physical cycle counts, sourcing hard-to-find and obsolete parts, organizing and standardizing parts storage, disposing of obsolete inventory, and managing vendor and procurement relationships that keep shop operations supplied. This is a field-based role requiring regular presence in shop parts rooms across multiple locations, not a desk-bound administrative position.This is a full-time, Monday - Friday benefit eligible position. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct and manage a recurring physical cycle count program across all NETC shop locations; investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Source hard-to-find, backordered, and obsolete parts, using vendor networks, supplier relationships, and industry resources.
- Design, implement, and maintain standardized parts storage and organization systems (bin locations, labeling, staging) at each shop location.
- Identify obsolete and slow-moving inventory across all locations and manage its disposition (return, liquidation, or write-off) in coordination with finance.
- Negotiate and manage vendor and supplier relationships for parts, equipment, and shop supplies to control cost and ensure supply reliability.
- Monitor and manage purchasing activity to standardize procurement practices across NETC's multiple locations.
- Anticipate parts and supply needs by location based on work mix, reducing shop downtime caused by stockouts.
- Partner with shop service leadership on receiving, staging, and day-to-day parts availability.
- Travel regularly between NETC shop locations to perform counts, audits, and on-site support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:- Prior hands-on experience in parts operations, procurement, or logistics; direct field experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience with physical inventory management, including cycle counts and obsolescence control.
- Procurement and vendor negotiation experience, including sourcing hard-to-find or backordered parts.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between multiple shop locations.
- Strong organizational skills, with experience designing or improving physical storage/inventory systems.
- Degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience in fleet, towing, heavy truck, or related industry parts operations.
- Familiarity with inventory or ERP systems.
- Experience supporting multiple locations for a single company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift parts and materials (up to 75 lbs) in shop and parts-room environments.
- Work is performed in a combination of shop floor, parts room, and office settings across multiple locations.
- Exposure to typical automotive/fleet shop conditions (noise, machinery, varying temperatures) when on-site.
- Regular travel by motor vehicle between NETC Fleet Services shop locations required.
